Aurelia Gamch's three-run homer made the final inning interesting, but Texas State held off the Wildcats for a 5-3 victory in an NCAA College Station softball regional elimination game Saturday afternoon.
The loss concluded the Wildcats' third consecutive season with a NCAA appearance at 30-31.
Gamch, a junior, launched a two-out shot that scored her, Cesley Tafoya and pinch hitter Joanna Hernandez . It was her fifth homer of the season and fourth after the fifth inning.
While Texas State (39-16) made the most its opportunities - scoring on a two-out single in the second, two on a bunt in the third and on a third inning error, B-CU left the bases loaded in the third and managed just three hits the first six innings against TSU's Anne Marie Taylor.
