Campbell Steps Down as Hampton Director of Athletics

HAMPTON, Va. - The Hampton University Department of Athletics has announced that Keshia Campbell has stepped down as Director of Athletics, effective immediately, for personal reasons.

Campbell came to Hampton in August 2011 and during her tenure, Hampton's athletic programs won Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) championships in women's cross country, women's indoor track & field and women's basketball.

"Ms. Campbell did a very good job for us and I hate to see her go.  All of us wish her well in any future endeavor," said Hampton University President Dr. William R. Harvey.

While the university conducts a national search for a new Director of Athletics, Dr. Rodney Smith, Vice President for Administrative Services will assume AD duties.
