ARLINGTON, Texas-Fresh off of her winning the NCAA Most Outstanding Performer award at the 2012 NCAA Women's Bowling Championships,
T'nia Falbo (Greensburg, Pa.) has been announced as a finalist for the Bowling Writers Association of America (BWAA), Collegiate Bowler of the Year.
Falbo, the 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Year is having a remarkable season. She just anchored her team to a 2012 NCAA National Championship and is averaging just under a 204 in 60 team games this season. She has also rolled in 78 Baker games for the Hawks. She was named a First-Team All-MEAC selection and a Third-Team NTCA All-America performer.
Last season, Maria Rodriguez, the National Tenpins Coaches Association Player of the Year was the runner up to the BWAA's College Bowler of the Year.
The other finalists this season include: Brandi Branka of McKendree, Laura Fonnegra and Amanda Green of Lindenwood, Kayla Jones of Kutztown, Kayla Rhoads of Marian, Jazreel Tan of Wichita State and Kim Yioulos of Pikeville.
The award will be presented tonight in Lincoln, Neb. at the Awards Reception that kicks off the United State Bowling Congress' (USBC) Intercollegiate Team Championships. The BWAA will also name a male Collegiate Bowler of the Year.
The BWAA, founded in 1934, is the world's most recognizable bowling media and communications organization. For eight decades, BWAA has been a primary industry source for bowling news and information for the global sport and business of bowling.
