Bethune-Cookman’s Juan Varon and Shareen Peterson were chosen as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
(MEAC) Men's and Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week the conference announced

Pronath received Men's Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively for
matches played February 27- March 4.
Varon (So., Bogota, Columbia.) was 3-1 in singles matches against Mount St. Mary’s, The
Citadel, Coastal Georgia and Northern Kentucky at the number two singles
position. The junior won three out of the four matches in straight sets. He
also captured the doubles point in the Mount St. Mary’s match.
Peterson (Jr., Toronto, Canada) recorded a 3-0 mark in singles play and a 2-0 mark in
doubles action for the Lady Wildcats. Against Mount Saint Mary’s the junior
defeated Carly Landini 7-5,6-3 and defeated Landini and Renee Dean at the #3
doubles spot 8-3.
Pronath (Fr., Heilsbronn, Germany) extended his win streak with a 3-0 record for the
Wildcats. The rookie defeated Mount St. Mary’s Mike Soloman 7-5, 4-6, 10-2 and
followed with a 6-4, 6-4 vicoty against Alex Howle of the Citadel. Pronath
concluded the week with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win against Northern Kentucky’s Andre
Correa.
Other Top Performances:
Igor Braga (NSU)
captured the point at the #3 spot with a win against North Carolina Central’s
Alejandro Espitia (6-2, 6-3).
Arsenio Culver (NSU)
defeated North Carolina Central’s Jose Fabara 6-1, 6-0 in singles action.
