Bulldogs Edge Rattlers 4-3: FAMU's Salif Kante Remains Undefeated In Singles In Conference Play

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.-The FAMU Rattlers were defeated in the doubles match by the Bulldogs ending in a 4-3 decision by South Carolina State. The match was a rematch of the 2011 MEAC Men's Tennis Championship. The Rattlers did take away the singles point in the top two seatings as Levan Clark and Salif Kante were victorious in their singles matches.

The Bulldogs swept the doubles competition. In the No.1 doubles position, Levan Clark and Salif Kante were defeated 8-6 to Peters Vinogradous and Artemiy Nikitin. In the No.2 slot, Chidi Gabriel and Takura Happy lost 9-8(6) to Dmytro Kovalevych and Anton Protsenko. Rattlers Fabrice Myrtil and Temuera Asafu-Adjaye won 8-6 over Bulldogs Tomas Bizon and Young Lee.

In the No.1 slot, Clark defeated Bizon (6-3,6-3). In the No.2 slot, Kante defeated (6-1,6-3) Kovalevych to sweep the top two spots. The No.3 match was defaulted when Takura Happy was unable to compete due to injury, giving SCSU the point. At the No.4 position, Gabriel defeated Vinogradous (3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4)).

Asafu-Adjaye lost (0-6,6-2,6-1) and Myrtil lost (3-6,6-0,6-3) to Lee to close out the match during Nos. 5 & 6 slots.
