Bethune-Cookman set season highs for runs scored, hits (14) and home runs (three) in the second game as the Wildcats (14-20) swept Hartford (4-14) 6-2,15-0 Thursday at Sunnyland Park.
Kelsey Rodney (3-3, 5 RBI), Aurelia Gamch and pinch hitter Michelle Soltes homered as B-CU extended its winning streak to eight games. Shanel Tolbert registered her third shutout in five games.
In the opener, Amari Foster hit a two-run homer, Shamaria Engram drove in two runs and Karina Romero doubled twice as Tolbert had a string of 19 consecutive shutout innings broken by Hartford in the seventh. Cesley Tafoya also had two hits for B-CU in the first game.
