DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -
Bethune-Cookman University forward Garrius Holloman was named to the National
Association of Basketball Coaches All-District team for District 15, it was
announced Wednesday.
Holloman, a 6-5 senior from
Wichita, Kan., garnered a second-team berth after helping the Wildcats advance
to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship for the first time in
program history. During the tournament, he hit the game-winning jumper with 5.7
left in the quarterfinal victory over North Carolina Central and was one of a
program-first six players in double figures in the semifinal win over Hampton.
For the season, Holloman
averaged 10.1 ppg and a team-high 6.7 rebounds.
After transferring from
Hutchinson (Kan.) CC, Holloman played a key role in B-CU's best season ever at
the Division I level in 2010-11, averaging 11.5 ppg and 6.7 rpg as the Wildcats
finished 21-13, won the MEAC regular season championship and made their first
Division I post-season appearance in the NIT.
