MEAC ANNOUNCES BOWLING WEEKLY HONORS

NORFOLK, Va., March 13, 2012- Norfolk State's Thea Aspiras was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week for matches played during the week of February 26 to March 4, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Aspiras (So., Chesapeake, Va.) knocked down 1,005 pins and averaged a 201.0 at the MEAC Southern Divisional in Daytona Beach, Fla. The sophomore recorded a game-high 222 in a win over North Carolina A&T. As a team, the Spartans tied for first place with an 8-2 record and captured the regular season title in the Southern Division.

Other Top Performers:

Natalee Armstrong (B-CU) averaged a 197.4 to aid the Lady Wildcats to an 8-2 record and a tie for a first place finish at the MEAC Southern Divisional meet.

Anggie Ramirez (UMES)
knocked down 996 pins and averaged a 199.2 to help the Lady Hawks capture the Northern Division title.
