Hampton's Keiara Avant was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Delaware State's Tierra Hawkins earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Bethune-Cookman's Demetria Frank earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Avant (Forward, 5-11, Jr., Chesapeake, Va.) averaged a double-double of 16.0 points and 14.0 rebounds in two conference games last week. Against Delaware State, Avant recorded 14 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. She followed that performance with 18 points and a tied a career-high 17 rebounds against Florida A&M.
Hawkins (Forward, 6-2, r-Fr., Clinton, Md.) combined for 22 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in two games for the Lady Hornets. Against Hampton, Hawkins scored 12 points and six rebounds. She recorded her 23rd double-digit point performance of the season with 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks against Howard.
Frank (Guard, 5-9, Sr., Miami, Fla.) grabbed 13 rebounds with five blocks and nine steals in two Lady Wildcat victories. Against Savannah State, Frank pulled down eight steals, blocked one shot and totaled one steal. In a win over Norfolk State, she posted five rebounds, four blocks and eight steals. Offensively, she added 32 points and six assists.

Adobi Agbasi (UMES) posted 15 points and 17 rebounds in two games for the Lady Hawks.
Tiffanie Adair (NCAT) scored 20 points with nine rebounds in a win over South Carolina State.
Antonia Bennett (FAMU) totaled 11 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks and three steals to aid the Lady Rattlers to a 1-1 mark last week.
JaQuayla Berry (NCAT) scored 18 points with eight rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win over South Carolina State.
Amber Calvin (NCAT) led her team with 23 points, seven rebounds and nine assists in a victory over South Carolina State.
Jasmine Elum (B-CU) averaged 19.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in two conference victories.
Whitney Long (NSU) scored 32 points with three assists and two steals in a loss to Bethune-Cookman.
Kwinnyata Mercer (UMES) totaled 36 points and eight rebounds to guide the Lady Hawks to a 1-1 mark last week.
Batavia Owens (NSU) tallied a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds against Bethune-Cookman.
Kimberly Sparkman (FAMU) totaled 24 points, six rebounds and four assists in two games for the Lady Rattlers.
