Wildcats Continue Strong Road Play With 73-67 Win Over Bison
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Everything you want from a road conference game in February, Bethune-Cookman came through with Monday in a 73-67 victory over Howard in Burr Gymnasium.
Kevin Dukes' 19 points led four Wildcats in double figures as B-CU staked an early lead, played solid defense, controlled the tempo, withstood the Bison's late charge and knocked down free throws down the stretch to hold serve in the tightly-contested Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship battle.
B-CU (12-14 overall, 8-3 MEAC) gained a half-game on idle Norfolk State, but victories by Delaware State, Savannah State and Coppin State maintained the rest of the status quo.
Howard senior guard Glenn Andrews tallied 12 of his team-high 15 points in the second half and freshman Simuel Frazier, added all 14 of his points in the second half.

NCCU holds S.C. State to just 36 percent shooting in 71-56 Final Home Game Win
DURHAM, N.C. - The last home game of the season was a memorable one for North Carolina Central University as it closed out the schedule in the friendly-confines with a 71-56 victory over the Bulldogs of South Carolina State University on Monday night in McDougald-McLendon Gym.
The contest started out very emotional for five senior student-athletes Justin Leemow (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Tramar Beaman (Williamstown, N.J.), Tracy O'Neal (Aiken, S.C.), Nick Chasten (Raleigh, N.C.) and Dominique Sutton (Durham, N.C.) as they donned the maroon and gray for the final time in front of the home faithful.
Through the first half the Bulldogs shot a dismal 8-for-26 (30.8%) from the field along with 11 turnovers. The Eagles took advantage of the missed Bulldog opportunities by turning them into points from the free throw line where the Eagle shot an impressive 8-for-10 (80%) in the first half.
South Carolina State's (5-21, 0-12 MEAC) Joe Ikhinmwin led all scorers with 21 points in the loss for the Bulldogs.

Hornets Win 7th Straight on Buzzer-Beater at MSU
Baltimore - Marques Oliver scored the game-winning basket on a follow-up as time expired to give Delaware State a 74-73 win over Morgan State in a nail biter at Hill Gymnasium.
The Hornets won their seventh straight game to improve to 11-11 overall and 8-3 in the MEAC. It's DSU longest streak since winning nine in a row during the 2006-07 season.
Morgan State led 73-72, but lost the ball on a turnover with 11.6 seconds left. After two timeouts by the Bears, Delaware State's Jay Threatt dribbled the length of the court before missing a 16-foot jumper from the left wing. Oliver out-fought two Morgan State players for the rebound, then put up a short shot off the glass and into the basket as time expired before being mobbed by his teammates at mid-court.
Tahj Tate led five Delaware State players in double figures with a game-high 24 points. Tyshawn Bell and Casey Walker added 13 each for the Hornets.
Morgan State lost its sixth in row to fall to 5-18 and 3-9. DeWayne Jackson came off the bench to lead the Bears with 16 points.
Threatt had nine assists in the game to pull to within one of the Hornets' career record. He now has 419 assists at DSU. Darrin Shine is the school-record holder with 420.
