Bethune-Cookman Tops Stetson, 86-63
Adrien Coleman's 29 points led four Bethune-Cookman players in double figures as the Wildcats downed Volusia County rival Stetson 86-63 Monday night in Moore Gym.
Coleman, a 6-5 junior, was 13 of 14 from the field as the Wildcats (3-6) posted their best field goal percentage (63.5) since February 5, 2000, when they shot 60.3 percent from the field in a 94-75 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore.
Javoris Bryant added a career-high 17 points, and Paul Scotland and Kevin Dukes added 15 and 13 respectively to help B-CU end a three-game losing skid. B-CU led from start to finish, scoring the first five points and taking a 13-3 lead on a Coleman jumper with 14:53 left in the first half.
The Wildcats shot 69 percent from the field to take a 46-23 halftime lead. Stetson (2-4) got no closer than 13 at 58-45 on an Aaron Graham jumper with 10:48 to play. Adam Pegg had 17 for the Hatters, who dropped their third straight.
