Muhammad Abdul-Aleem was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Player of the Week the conference announced on Monday.
Rashid Gaston of Norfolk State was named Rookie of the Week while Morgan State's
Dewayne Jackson earned Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
Abdul-Aleem (G, 6-4, 210, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.) recorded a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds with two assists and three steals in 27 minutes of play. He shot 7-of-14 from the field and hit two 3-points coming off the bench in a loss to Georgia.
Gaston (F, 6-8, 235, Fr., Warren, Ohio) hit 6-of-7 shots en route to 12 points with seven rebounds in 23 minutes play against East Carolina.
Jackson (F, 6-8, 210, Sr., Bowie, Md.) tallied a total of eight rebounds, five blocks and four steals in two non-conference games against Loyola Marymount and San Diego. Offensively he recorded 21 points and six assists.
Other Top Performances
Justin Black (MSU) posted back-to-back double digit scoring performances of 15 points against Loyola Marymount and 16 points against San Diego along with a combined 10 rebounds and five assists in the non-conference games.
Jeremy Ingram (NCCU) scored 20 points, hitting 50-percent from long range (4-of-8), with three assists and four steals while playing the entire game against Marquette.
Trey Kellum (FAMU) hit nine points and grabbed seven rebounds with two assists against Georgia.
Stanton Kidd (NCCU) connected on 7-of-14 shots (50%) and 3-of-3 from free-throws on the way to 19 points and eight rebounds with three assists and one steal against Marquette.
Tahj Tate (DSU) finished with 20 points and four assists while shooting 2-of-2 from the free-throw line against Maryland.
Markee Teal (FAMU) recorded 10 points and seven rebounds with one assist, one block and one steal against Georgia.
Pendarvis Williams (NSU) finished with 15 points and seven rebounds against East Carolina.
