MEAC Announces Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

North Carolina A&T State guard JaQuayla Berry was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. North Carolina Central's Amber Neely earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Florida A&M's Jamie Foreman earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

Berry (Guard/Forward, 5-10, Sr., Douglas, Ga.) averaged 22.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 1.0 assist to aid the Lady Aggies to a 1-1 mark last week. Against Charlotte, she led her team with 15 points and six rebounds. Following that performance, she posted 29 points, including 14-of-23 from the floor, with nine rebounds, four steals and two assists in a win over William & Mary.

Neely (Guard, 5-5, Fr., Charlotte, N.C.) combined for 29 points and 16 rebounds in two Lady Eagle games last week. Against Gardner-Webb she tallied a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds and three steals. For the week, Neely shot 67-percent from 3-point range and 70-percent from the charity stripe.

Foreman (Forward/Center, 5-10, So., Beach Island, S.C.) grabbed 21 rebounds and blocked three shots in two Lady Rattler games. Offensively, she added 21 points and two assists against Saint Francis and Western Kentucky.

Other Top Performers:

Saadia Doyle (Howard) tallied a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Pepperdine.

Terrenisha Hollis (B-CU) averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 rebounds against UNC Asheville and Georgia Southern last week.

Rachel Gordon (NSU) pulled down 10 rebounds in a win over Chowan.

Jasmine Grice (FAMU) scored 27 points, eight rebounds and six steals in a 69-65 win over St. Francis.

Aivah Parham (NSU) led Norfolk State in scoring with 17 points and three rebounds versus Chowan.

Tracy King (NCAT) combined for 34 points, 11 rebounds and four steals to aid the Lady Aggies to a 1-1 mark.

Karona Roach (UMES) scored a career-high 23 points against UMBC.

Shaynce Stewart (UMES) pulled down 15 rebounds, stole three passes and blocked one shot in two games for the Lady Hawks.

Jade Washington (DSU) posted 18 points, including 6-of-9 from the floor in a 69-61 win over Towson.

Chasidy Williams (NCCU) scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds and stole four passes in a loss to UNC-Greensboro.
