SAVANNAH, Ga. - In the final game of a three game home stretch for the Savannah State, the Lady Tigers downed the University of North Florida 49-40 in Tiger Arena, Monday evening.
The Lady Tigers were led by junior Blessing Uba who went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 5-for-9 from the field, tallying a season high 13 points. Transfers Andrietta Thomas and Erin Hogue followed with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Monday's game marked only the second time this season SSU has had three players in double scoring figures.
In the 11th meeting of the teams, SSU takes the 6-5 edge in the overall series. Jadhken Kerr led the Lady Osprey's with 14 points.
Savannah State shot 40.0 percent from the floor, and 40.0 percent from deep, while sinking 7-of-9 attempts at the charity strip. North Florida ended with a 30.8 percent clip from the floor, and 20.0 from beyond the arc.
