ORANGEBURG, SC - Senior guard Tiara Knotts poured in a season-high 26 points and senior Paris Alston added 16 to power South Carolina State to a 94-46 victory over visiting Southern Wesleyan Tuesday night in a non-conference contest.
SC State, which scored its highest point total in two years, improved to 3-1 on the season.
Knotts connected on 9-13 attempts, including 4-5 from 3-point range, while Alston was 8-10 from the field for the Lady Bulldogs, who made 48 percent (36-75) of their shots, including 10-23 from behind the arc.
Also in double figures for Coach Doug Robertson's squad were junior Brittany Cochran and Mykala Jones with 11 points each. Cochran also had a team-high eight rebounds for SC State, which enjoyed a 41-30 edge on the glass.
The Warriors were led by Audra Cranston - the only Southern Wesleyan player in double figures -- with 11 points. Laura Johnson and Chelsie added seven points each in the loss, the sixth in seven outings for the Warriors. Ashley Cooper led the visitors on the glass with eight.
