Durham, N.C.- After a solid first-half of play, North Carolina Central team lost its steam, allowing Wofford to take a 11-point, 50-39 win on Monday, Nov. 26, in McDougald-McLendon Gymnasium.
NCCU freshmen Tisha Dixon led the Lady Eagles, scoring in double-figures for the third time this season. The Kinston, N.C., native scored 11 points while collecting seven rebounds, two steals, and shooting 7-for-10 from the charity stripe. Redshirt senior Chasidy Williams contributed eight points, a team-high eight rebounds, three steals and two assists during the loss.
In terms of a total team performance, NCCU seized 36 rebounds, blocked one WC shots and stole 16 Lady Terrier possessions. The Lady Eagles shot 64 percent from the free-throw line, 27 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point arc.
The visiting Lady Terriers offense was led by seniors Morgan Wrightson and Daniella Motley. Wrightson dropped 18 points, while going 4-for-5 from the charity stripe, while Motley added nine points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots.
As a unit, WC obtained 37 rebounds and stole 17 Lady Eagle possessions, while blocking five NCCU shots. The Lady Terriers shot 64 percent from the charity stripe, 35 percent from the field and 22 percent from the long range.
