Lady Hornets Run Past Wilmington For First Win

Tierra Hawkins led four players in double figures with 22 points to lead Delaware State to an 88-46 win over Wilmington (Del.) in Memorial Hall this evening.

The win was the first of the season for the Lady Hornets (1-3) and the first victory at DSU for new head coach Tamika Louis.

Hawkins (9-14 FGs) also had a game-high 12 rebounds to notch her second "double-double" of the season. A 2012-13 preseason All-MEAC First Team selection, Hawkins has 83 points in DSU's four games (20.8 ppg), including two with 20-or-more points this season.

Tasia Bristow came off the bench to add 18 points and a game-high six assists in her season debut for the Lady Hornets. She was seven-of-13 from the field, including one 3-point field goal, and 3-for-3 at the free throw line.

Keyanna Tate (12) and Deanna Harmon (10) also reached double figures in scoring for DSU.

Tenecia Spence was high scorer for Wilmington with 22 points. She was 8-for-20 from the field and 6-of-6 at the free throw line.
