Hampton forward Keiara Avant was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Maryland Eastern Shore's Alexis Udoji earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Bethune-Cookman's Amanda Hairston earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Avant (Forward, 5-10, Sr., Chesapeake, Va.) averaged a double-double with 20.7 points and 12.3 rebounds in three victories last week. Against LSU, Avant scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while shooting 55-percent from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe. For the week, she also totaled 12 steals and dished out six assists.
Udoji (Center, 6-4, Fr., Randolph, Mass.) connected on 5-of-9 baskets (55.6%) and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line to aid the Lady Hawks to a 1-1 finish in non-conference action last week. Against George Mason, she totaled 12 points, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range, along with two blocks.
Udoji was just shy of a double-double against Elizabeth City State with 11 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.
Hairston (Center, 6-0, Jr., Greensboro, N.C.) grabbed 16 rebounds, blocked five shots and recorded five steals in two Lady Wildcat games. Offensively Hairston added 30 points, points while shooting 75-percent from the floor (12-for-16) and 67-percent from the charity stripe (6-for-9).

Amber Calvin (NCAT) led the Aggies with 19 points, including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc, in a 66-57 win over Iona.
Rae Corbo (NSU) scored 15 points shooting 75-percent from 3-point range and a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line against USC Upstate.
Kyra Coleman (CSU) scored a career-high 24 points, including 10-for-18 from the floor and 4-for-7 from the free throw line in a loss to UMBC.
Moniesha Davis (MSU) combined for 24 points, nine rebounds, 10 steals and three blocks in two games for the Lady Bears.
Saadia Doyle (Howard) tallied a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to DePaul.
Jasmine Grice (FAMU) led the Lady Rattlers in scoring with 19 points and six rebounds against Stetson.
Fannie Goodwin (SCSU) scored nine points, pulled down four rebounds and stole three passes in 19 minutes of play against Georgia.
Tierra Hawkins (DSU) recorded a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to St. Francis (NY).
