Valerie Riggin was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Riggin (5-5, So., Vista, Calif.) averaged a 206 and 1,030 pinfall at the MEAC northern divisional meet last week. She aided the Lady Hawks to a 9-1 mark to open up the season and conference play. Riggin bowled three 200-plus games, including a 220 in a win over Coppin State.
Other Top Performers:
Thea Aspiras (NSU) bowled a 224 in a win over Bethune-Cookman and totaled 775 pinfall and a 193.8 average at the MEAC southern divisional meet.
Staci Hilliard (B-CU) averaged a 205.5 with 822 total pinfall to aid the Lady Wildcats to a 3-5 mark at the MEAC southern divisional meet.
Emily Strombeck (NCAT) was second among individual finishers at the MEAC Southern divisional meet with a 785 total pinfall and a 196.2 average.
