Keiara Avant was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Savannah State's
Jerryshia Williams earned Rookie of the Week honors, while Hampton's
Verdine Warner earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Avant (Forward, 5-10, Sr., Chesapeake, Va.) scored a career-high 26 points, while shooting 57-percent from the field and a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, in a 78-41 non-conference victory over Southern Mississippi. She also grabbed 13 rebounds, three steals and dished out one assist in the win.
Williams (Guard, 5-9, Fr., Macon, Ga.) connected on 5-of-11 baskets (46%) in a win over Columbia College. She posted 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 18 minutes of action.
Warner (Center, 6-6, So., St. Vincent, Grenadines) grabbed 18 rebounds, blocked four shots and recorded one steal against Southern Mississippi. Offensively Warner scored 17 points while shooting 50-percent from the floor (8-of-16).

Paris Alston (SCSU) totaled 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks against Claflin.
Kashay Barnes (NSU) shot 50-percent from the field with 16 points in a win over Penn.
Tracey Carrington (MSU) finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds in a victory over UMBC.
Kyra Coleman (CSU) recorded back-to-back double-digit scoring performances with 20 points against Cheyney and 18 points against Wake Forest.
Tisha Dixon (NCCU) scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds against UNC-Charlotte.
Saadia Doyle (Howard) averaged 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two games for the Lady Bison.
Rachel Gordon (NSU) grabbed 15 rebounds and scored seven points against Penn.
Jasmine Grice (FAMU) scored 26 points, pulled down five rebounds and dished out three assists in a win over Jacksonville.
Deanna Harmon (DSU) recorded 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals against Kentucky.
Tierra Hawkins (DSU) tallied a career-high 28 points and six rebounds against Kentucky.
