Tigers Rout Stetson 75-45

SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State improved to 7-1 at Tiger Arena with a 75-45 rout of Stetson. before a crowd of 1,510.

Rudolph led the way for SSU with 20 points as he drained six 3-pointers. Blackmon, who hit five 3-pointers added 15 points and four assists while Hassan chipped in 12 points and  nine rebounds. Louis came off the bench to contribute 14 rebounds and nine points for the Tigers. SSU shot 42.9 percent from the field for the game and made 55 percent of their 3-point attempts.

Stetson, who was held without a field goal the final 4:40, was led by Chris Perez's 12 points.

OLIVER LEADS HORNETS PAST RATTLERS

Dover, Del. - Junior Marques Oliver was two blocks shy of achieving a triple-double to help lead Delaware State to a 65-51 win over Florida A&M in Memorial Hall this evening. Oliver had 10 points, 12 rebounds and a school record-tying eight blocks in the contest.  

Delaware State's Tahj Tate led all players with 19 points (8-16 FGs). Jay Threatt had 11 points, a season-high nine assists and three steals for the Hornets.

Nathaniel Drayton came off the bench to lead Florida A&M with 12 points.

Delaware State hit 25 of its 54 shots from the field (46.3%), including 7-of-17 from three-point territory (41.2%). Florida A&M was 18-of-55 from the floor (32.7%), including 5-of-15 from beyond the arc.

Breeze Bashes UMES For 20;'Cats Win 4th Straight 67-55

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. -Bethune-Cookman posted its first double-digit margin of victory in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference road game since President Obama took office Monday with a 67-55 decision over Maryland Eastern Shore.

Anthony Breeze inflicted a 20-point performance on the Hawks' interior game to help the Wildcats (9-12 overall, 6-1 MEAC) win their fourth straight and close to within one game of idle Norfolk State for the league lead.

Adrien Coleman created scoring opportunities to finish with ten points and was two rebounds away from a second straight double-double. Garrius Holloman also scored ten. Dukes scored six of his in the first half while Elliott scored all seven of his points in the second. Ricky Johnson had a career-high seven assists.

Ishaq Pitt scored 13 points, and Gregory Womack and Spencer had 12 each for Maryland-Eastern Shore.

Bastfield's 20 help Morgan State topple the Eagles, 71-64

BALTIMORE, MD. - Morgan State University senior point guard Larry Bastfield's career-high 20 points coinciding with North Carolina Central University's 8-for-30 effort from the field in the second half led the host Bears to the 71-64 win over the Eagles on Monday night, Jan. 21 from Hill Field House in Baltimore, Md.

Willis led the maroon and gray charge with 13 first-half points on 5-for-5 shooting, while Ebuka Anyaorah (Suwanee, Ga.) added seven points along with four rebounds. The Eagles (9-10, 3-3 MEAC) had four players in double figures as Sutton and Willis finished with 16 points, while Chasten contributed 12 points, and Anyaorah added 10 points in the loss.

Morgan State had four players reach double figures led by Bastfield's 20 points as Kevin Thompson finished with 13, Ameer Ali and Aric Brooks contributed 11 in the win for the host Bears.

Aggies Upend Eagles in Overtime Thriller

BALTIMORE - Junior forward Adrian Powell hit a game-winning shot for the second consecutive game as North Carolina A&T beat Coppin State 93-92 in what was a thrilling overtime contest at the Physical Education Complex.

Powell led the Aggies with 15 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Nic Simpson added 22 points on 5-for-8 shooting from 3-point range.

Coppin State's Michael Harper had 30 points after connecting on six 3-pointers.
