Lady Pirates Sail Away With 83-51 Victory At Morgan State
BALTIMORE- Choicetta McMillian scored a game-high 22 points to lead five Lady Pirates in double figures scoring, as Hampton dealt the Lady Bears an 83-51 loss at Hill Field House. Jerika Jenkins notched a double-double, finishing with 16 points and a game-high 12 assists, giving her 511 assists for her career.
Nicole Hamilton also got into the scoring act, coming off the bench to record 15 points, while Melanie Warner contributed 13 points and Ariel Phelps chipped in with 10 points and a career-high four blocked shots in a reserve role. Alyssa Bennett hauled in a game-high 10 rebounds for Hampton which improved to 21-11 all-time against Morgan State and has now won the last three meetings against Morgan State by an average of 33.3 points. The 83 points scored by the Lady Pirates was also a season-best.
Morgan State (3-14, 0-4 MEAC) seemed up to the challenge and stayed close for the better part of the first half. Morgan State pulled within, 25-23 on a put back by Amarah Williams with 6:14 left in the opening half.
The Lady Bears were led by Chyress Lockhart, DeKeisha Mathis and Southerland, who all finished with nine points. Moneshia Davis added eight points, recorded three steals and tied team-high honors of six rebounds with Tracey Carrington.

SC State Falls to Florida A&M in a MEAC Women's Basketball Matchup
Tallahassee, Fla.--The SC State women's basketball team fell to Florida A&M, 62-79, in a MEAC match up at the Alfred Lawson Center on the campus of Florida A&M.
Despite the loss, the Lady Bulldogs had four players to record in double-digits led by junior Tiara Knotts with 17. Cabriel Duren scored 11 while Trinese fox and Tiana Hemphill scored 10 points each. Hemphill recorded a double-double as she pulled in a game-high 12 rebounds in the in the loss.
Antonia Bennett scored a game-high 27 points including 11-of-14 from the field to lead Florida A&M. Tameka McKelton scored 12 and Jamie Foreman scored 10 as the Lady Rattlers improved to 12-5 overall and 5-0 in the MEAC. Regina Smiley pulled in nine rebounds and Kimberly Sparkman scored nine points in the victory.

Coppin State Outlasts Norfolk State, 67-62
BALTIMORE -- Jeanine Manley scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Crystal Whittington scored nine points and collected 10 rebounds leading Coppin State to a 67-62 MEAC victory over Norfolk State on Monday in the Physical Education Complex.
Coppin State, which won for the sixth time in the last seven games, also received 13 points each from Shawntae Payne and Ashle Craig.
Norfolk State (8-9, 3-3 MEAC) was led by Rae Corbo who scored 18 points.

Lady Wildcats Control Overtime to defeat Savannah State, 58-54
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Lady Wildcats (5-12) proved to be overtime warriors Monday night at Moore Gymnasium, outscoring Savannah State 9-5 in the overtime to come out victorious and move to 2-3 in MEAC play with the 58-54 win. B-CU weathered the storm with four lead changes and seven ties, but ultimately earned the win on key defensive stops to defeat the Lady Tigers (6-11, 1-5 MEAC), 58-54.
Demetria Frank led the effort of three Lady Wildcats in double figures, collecting 14 points, while Jasmine Elum and Jalisa Isaac each put up 10. Not the typical rebounder, Elum was all over the glass, leading the team with 8 boards.
B-CU successfully held Ezinne Kalu below average, but she still had an impact, putting up 16, while Jazmine Norman stepped up to lead the Lady Tigers with 18 points and six rebounds.

HOWARD STEALS AND REBOUNDS LEAD TO 67-26 NCCU LOSS
WASHINGTON, D.C. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - With Howard out rebounding the North Carolina Central Lady Eagles 44-19 and forcing 21 maroon and gray turnovers, NCCU concluded the Monday, Jan. 16 contest with a 26-67 loss to HU in Washington, D.C.
Lady Eagle senior Blaire Houston topped the team with nine points, while junior Chasidy Williams followed with six points. Sophomore Tenika Neely distributed two assists, as Williams stole three possessions and sophomore Alesha Jenkins pulled down six rebounds.
NCCU's Neely snapped the run with a long range basket at the 16:28 mark.
While Saadia Doyle's offensive effort began to decrease, Tamoria Holmes' effort increased, and the 3-of-5 from the behind the arc shooter led the squad to a final 67-26 victory over the Lady Eagles.
Howard's Holmes attained a team-high 23 points, as Doyle assisted in the win with 21 points. Leading the dominant rebounding effort was Nicole Deterville, who pulled down 11 rebounds for the Lady Bison, as Cheyenne Curley-Payne circulated seven assists and gathered four steals.
