Bethune-Cookman junior Krysta Gardner was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Maryland Eastern Shore's Saitaua Iosia earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Gardner (5-8, Jr., OH, Ashburn, Va.) guided her team to a 2-2 record as hosts of the Bethune-Cookman Invitational. Gardner hit 22-percent from the floor with 73 kills. She added 41 digs in the defensive effort. In a 3-2 non-conference victory against Hampton, the outside hitter recorded her sixth double-double of 29 kills and 14 digs.
Iosia (5-10, Fr., OH, Long Beach, Calif.) earned All-Tournament honors and guided her team to a 2-1 finish at the Bryant Invitational last weekend. The outside hitter tallied 59 kills, 30 digs and 11 blocks in three matches. In a win over Bryant, Iosia hit 42-percent from the floor with a MEAC season-high 30 kills, four total blocks, five aces and eight digs.

Dayanna Arrufat (NCCU) was just shy of a double-double with 12 kills and nine digs against Elon.
Orneala Cadavid (Ham) recorded a career-high 15 kills and hit 41-percent from the floor in a 3-2 loss to Bethune-Cookman.
Maria Ceccarelli (FAMU) recorded a double-double of 13 kills and 10 digs in a loss to Mercer.
Jessica Croucher (DSU) totaled 27 kills and 18 digs and earned All-Tournament honors at the Dartmouth Invite.
Aubrianna Curtis (B-CU) combined for 15 kills and 33 digs in four matches for the Lady Wildcats.
Tosin Elebute (How) totaled 48 kills, 23 digs and five blocks in three matches for the Lady Bison.
Beatriz Ferreira (NSU) recorded 13 kills in a non-conference win against North Carolina A&T.
Bryana Gadis (SSU) combined for 11 kills and 17 digs in nine sets for the Lady Tigers.
Kaveinga Lea'Aetoa (UMES) totaled 38 kills, 10 blocks and 14 digs in three matches at the Brown Invitational.
Jzima-Malaki Kalao (NCCU) posted 51 assists and 18 digs in three matches for NCCU.
Krista Kraskura (Ham) recorded a double-double of 20 kills and 24 digs in a win over Stetson.
