Norfolk State senior guard Rob Hampton has been invited to play in the HBCU All-Star Classic, which will take place on Saturday, April 23 in Columbus, Ga.
The game will tip off at 7:45 p.m. at the Columbus Civic Center. Hampton will play on the HBCU East squad which features players from the MEAC and the Division II CIAA. Joining Hampton from the MEAC will be Thomas Coleman of North Carolina A&T, Darnell Porter of South Carolina State, Charles Funches of Hampton, and Ceslovas Kucinskas of Coppin State. The East will match up with a West team comprised of players from the SWAC and the Division II SIAC.
The 6-4 Hampton was NSU's second-leading scorer in 2010-11, averaging 14 points per game. He ranked 10th in the MEAC in scoring and 12th in field goal percentage (43.4).
