MEAC Bowling Championship to Air on ESPNU

The 2011 MEAC Bowling Championship will air on ESPNU, today at 7 p.m. (EST). The championship finale was originally played on March 20, 2011.

The Maryland Eastern Shore Lady Hawks won their fifth MEAC bowling title with a victory over the Morgan State Lady Bears at the Gate City Lanes in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Three-time MEAC Player of the Year Maria Rodriguez aided UMES to its first title since 2008.  The Lady Hawks, who are ranked second in the nation, currently hold a 98-30 mark overall and concluded the regular season at 28-2 in conference play.

UMES junior Paula Vilas earned Outstanding Tournament Performer honors and Lady Hawks head coach Sharon Brummell was named the Outstanding Coach for the fifth time in her career.

Joining Vilas and Rodriguez on the All-Tournament Team were Delaware State's Jazmyne Hefflefinger and Devin Revels along with Keisheena Waldon of Morgan State.
