The Norfolk State Spartans will travel to Dover, Delaware to take on the Delaware State Hornets in an ESPNU televised men's basketball game on Monday, February 7 at 9 p.m.
Norfolk State (7-14, 5-4 MEAC) ended a five game win streak with an 88-84 loss to Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday night. Junior Kyle O'Quinn finished with 19 points and 12 rebounds for his 10th double-double of the season, while senior Aleek Pauline added 16 points, seven assists and seven rebounds.
Delaware State (8-13, 4-5 MEAC) fell, 78-73, in an overtime game against North Carolina A&T in their last outing. Freshman Casey Walker led four Delaware State players in double figures with 19 points. Rookie Desi Washington recorded 18 points, highlighted by four 3-pointers, for the Hornets.
NSU leads the all-time series with Delaware State, 27-20. The Hornets won the last meeting between the two schools, 54-52, at Norfolk State on Feb. 8, 2010.
The 2011 MEAC Championship Tournament will also air on the ESPN networks with the women's championship game scheduled for a taped-delayed telecast airing on March 13 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU while the men's championship game will be televised live on March 12 on ESPN2 beginning at 2 p.m.
