Morgan State To Face North Carolina A&T In Doubleheader On ESPNU

The Morgan State women's and men's basketball teams will travel to Greensboro, North Carolina to face the North Carolina A&T Aggies during a nationally televised doubleheader, Monday, February 28.  The games will broadcast live on ESPNU beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the women's game and a 7 p.m. start for the men's game.

Morgan State (15-12, 9-5 MEAC) dropped a 66-65 decision to Norfolk State on Saturday. Mahala Thomas, who came off the bench and scored a career and game-high 25 points, led the Lady Bears. Brittany Dodson posted 10 points and Whitney Southerland added eight points in the loss.

North Carolina A&T (14-12, 9-5 MEAC) is on a three-game winning streak, after defeating Coppin State, 81-58, on Saturday. Jaquayla Berry and Reisha Bullock both scored a game-high 17 points a piece, while Mikala Scott came off the bench and added 16 points in the victory.

The Lady Aggies lead the all-time series, 32-19, while Morgan State has won the last two contests, including a 51-49 win on Jan. 31.

In men's action, Morgan State (15-11, 10-4 MEAC) fell to Norfolk State, 69-63, on Saturday night. Kevin Thompson recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.

North Carolina A&T(14-15, 8-6 MEAC) defeated Coppin State 76-72 last Saturday. Senior center Thomas Coleman led the Aggies with 24 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots while Nic Simpson came off the bench and scored 12 points.

The Aggies hold a 46-32 all-time record against Morgan State, however the Bears have seven of the last eight contests.

The 2011 MEAC Basketball Championships will air on the ESPN networks with the men's championship game televised live on March 12 on ESPN2 beginning at 2 p.m. and the women's championship game scheduled for a taped-delayed telecast airing on March 13 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
