The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the Morgan State Bears in an ESPNU televised men's basketball game on Monday, February 21 at 9 p.m.
Maryland Eastern Shore (6-20, 3-10 MEAC) dropped its third consecutive game, 69-67, to Coppin State on Saturday. Senior Hillary Haley led the Hawks with a double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds while senior Freddy Obame Obame also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.
Morgan State (13-10, 8-3 MEAC) extended their win streak to three with a, 67-62, non-conference victory against VMI in Sears BracketBusters last Saturday. Junior Kevin Thompson led the Bears with 18 points and was perfect from the field (9-of-9).
Morgan State leads the all-time series with Maryland Eastern Shore 48-30. The Bears won the last meeting between the two schools, 74-60, at Maryland Eastern Shore on January 24.
The 2011 MEAC Championship Tournament will air on the ESPN networks with the men's championship game televised live on ESPN2 beginning at 2 p.m. on March 12 and the women's championship game scheduled for a taped-delayed telecast airing on March 13 at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
The tournament tips off March 7-12 at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Coliseum in Winston-Salem, NC.
