Kyle O'Quinn was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Delaware State's
Casey Walker was named the Rookie of the Week and Maryland Eastern Shore's
Tyler Hines earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor respectively.
O'Quinn (F/C, 6-10, 240, Jr., Jamaica, N.Y.) averaged 19.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games for the Spartans. He scored 21 points, 14 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in a loss to Delaware State. O'Quinn followed that performance with 17 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks against Hampton.
Walker (G, 6-4, 180, Fr., Broadnax, Va.) averaged 15.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals to aid the Hornets to a 1-1 mark last week. In a win over Norfolk State, Walker shot 61-percent from the field (8-of-13) and 75-percent (6-of-8) from behind the arc for a total of 24 points.
Hines (F/C, 6-6, 230, Jr., Sicklerville, N.J.) grabbed 26 rebounds and one steal to aid the Hawks to a 1-1 record last week. In a win over North Carolina A&T, Hines pulled down 11 rebounds and recorded one steal. Against Delaware State, he posted 15 rebounds. Offensively he combined for 18 points, including a perfect 4-of4 from the charity stripe.

Akeem Ellis (CSU) led the Eagles to a 1-1 mark with a combined 38 points, 11 rebounds and six rebounds.
Hillary Haley (UMES) totaled 41 points and 10 rebounds in two games for the Hawks.
Mike Phillips (How) averaged 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds to aid the Bison to a 1-1 mark last week.
Marques Oliver (DSU) recorded a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Norfolk State.
CJ Reed (B-CU) averaged 18.5 points while shooting 52-percent from the field (13-of-25) against Morgan State and Delaware State.
Pendarvis Williams (NSU) connected on four 3-pointers and totaled 18 points against Delaware State.
