Hawks improve to a perfect 20-0 at 2nd MEAC North Meet

BALTIMORE, Md.-The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) had another solid 
outing in conference play this past weekend, sporting a perfect 10-0 mark to improve to 
20-0 overall in MEAC play on the young season. Anggie Ramirez (Bogota, Colombia) led 
all Hawk bowlers, averaging a 200.4 over five games, including four games of 200 or better 
to tally 1,0002 pins.  She also bowled in all five baker games.  Her high was a 221 in the win 
over Delaware State.
 
Freshman Mariana Alvarado  also had a good outing, averaging a 198.4 and totaling 992 pins 
over five games. She had a high of a 242 in the DSU win, the highest game of any Hawk bowler 
over the weekend.

Lady Wildcat Bowling Finishes Third at MEAC Southern Divisional #2

SUMTER, S.C. - The Lady Wildcats wrapped up the second MEAC Southern Divisional bowling tournament on Sunday with a third-place finish at South Carolina State. B-CU had an up-and-down weekend at times, but maintain their presence among the top teams divisional standings, with one more divisional tournament on the horizon in March.

Junior Staci Hilliard led the Lady Wildcats in Saturday's Traditional Team play, ranking second among tournament bowlers with an average of 191.4 pins per game, including a 226 against rival Florida A&M.

B-CU finished third overall on the weekend, logging a 3-2 record in Traditional play and 3-2 in Baker play.

Spartans Go Perfect 10-0 at MEAC Southern Divisional

SUMTER, S.C. - Needing a big tournament to keep its Southern Division title hopes alive, the No. 15 ranked Norfolk State bowling team did just that, posting a perfect 10-0 record over the weekend at the MEAC Southern Divisional hosted by South Carolina State.

In the second of three Southern Divisionals on the year, the Spartans went 5-0 on both Saturday and Sunday, outpacing Florida A&M, which finished 7-3 on the weekend, and Bethune-Cookman, which posted a 6-4 mark. NSU improved to 16-4 in conference play to take over first place from the Wildcats. The Spartans also ran their overall record to 32-14.

Silver Finishes with 3rd overall game average during 2nd MEAC Southern Division Tournament

SUMTER, S.C. - NCCU completed Saturday's team play with wins over South Carolina State, 832-779, and North Carolina A&T, 829-823. Silver rolled the fourth highest game in the tournament, bowling a 223 during the Lady Eagles loss to Norfolk State.

During bakers play on Sunday, the Lady Eagles obtained a single win over North Carolina A&T in four matches, with an overall pinfall score of 620-596.

Senior Toria Silver finished with the third highest overall game average for North Carolina Central University, averaging 185.8 pins per game during the second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Southern Division tournament in Sumter, S.C., on Dec. 4-5.
