CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -Hampton used a strong second half to pick off Boston College 71-63 Saturday afternoon at the Silvio O. Conte Forum, despite being down at the half.

Junior forward Keiara Avant also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Senior guard Jericka Jenkins added 13 points - thanks largely to an 8-for-9 effort from the free throw line - and was one assist shy of a double-double.

Hampton outscored the Eagles 9-5 through the rest of the half to close the gap.

The Lady Pirates shot 33.3 percent (22-for-66) from the floor, while also making eight of their 28 3-pointers and 19 of their 25 free throws - including 12 of 13 in the second half.
