NORFOLK, Va., December 19, 2011- Howard guard Saadia Doyle named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Delaware State's Tierra Hawkins earned Rookie of the Week honors, while North Carolina Central's Chasidy Williams earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Doyle (Forward, 5-11, r-Jr., Atlanta, Ga.) scored 28 points, pulled down seven rebounds along with one block and one steal in a 63-59 overtime win against Wake Forest. Doyle hit 53-percent from the floor (10-of-19) and 89-percent from the free-throw line (8-of-9) while playing in all 43 minutes of action.
Hawkins (Guard/Forward, 6-2, r-Fr., Clinton, Md.) recorded back-to-back double digit outings with 18 points against North Florida and 11 points against Florida International. She added 15 rebounds and four steals in the two games.
Williams (Guard, 6-0, r-Jr., Fayetteville, N.C.) pulled down 28 rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals to aid the Lady Eagles to a 1-1 mark last week. In a loss to Clemson, the guard grabbed 17 boards en route to her fifth double-double of the season. Offensively, she combined for 42 points and added three assists, while shooting 45-percent from the floor.

Adobi Agbasi (UMES) recorded a season-high six blocked shots against South Florida.
Antonia Bennett (FAMU) averaged 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two victories last week for the Lady Rattlers.
Jalessa Blue (FAMU) totaled 18 points, 14 rebounds, four steals and four assists in two games for the Lady Rattlers.
Tasia Bristow (DSU) recorded back-to-back double digit outings with 24 points against North Florida and 18 points against Florida International.
Amber Calvin (NCAT) averaged 12.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in three games for the Lady Aggies.
Rae Corbo (NSU) tallied 19 points and three rebounds in a loss to Radford.
Amber Cook (UMES) posted 20 points and five rebounds in a loss to South Florida.
Cheyenne Curley-Payne (How) totaled 10 points and six steals in a win over Wake Forest.
Qiana Donald (FAMU) averaged 12.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in two wins for the Lady Rattlers.
Demetria Frank (B-CU) posted 11 rebounds, two blocked shots and six steals against Louisiana-Lafayette last week.
Nikia Gorham (NCAT) was just one rebound shy of a double-double with 15 points and nine boards in a win over Johnson C. Smith.
Rachel Gordon (NSU) posted 13 rebounds against Radford last week.
Quineshia Leonard (NSU) scored 11 points and added five rebounds for the Spartans last week.
Jessica Long (UMES) totaled 11 points along with five steals in a loss to Towson.
