Bethune-Cookman Falls Short on Second-Half Comeback vs. Louisiana Lafayette, 72-67

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Three Lady Wildcats in double figures and the highest scoring total since game one proved not to be enough for the win, as Louisiana Lafayette built a second half lead and held on for the 72-67 win, Friday at Moore Gymnasium.

Jasmine Elum led the three double-digit B-CU scorers, putting up 18 points on 8-of-17 shooting. Joining her in leading B-CU, Demetria Frank notched a double-double of 11 and 11, along with six steals and two blocks, while Cleniece Roberts tallied 11 points and nine rebounds.

Louisiana (5-5) has proven this season to be a tough team defensively, holding opponents to an average of 50 points, but the Lady Wildcats were able to come together offensively, putting up the fourth highest total against ULL, and the most points since game one of the Lady Wildcat season.

B-CU outrebounded the Cajuns 38-34 and both teams racked up 21 turnovers, but free throws proved to be a notable factor in the outcome, with B-CU shooting 55 percent to ULL's 70.
