UMES, DSU, and NSU in NTCA Poll's Top 15

NSU Moves Up to 13th in Latest NTCA Poll

NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State bowling team inched its way closer to the top 10 and again achieved its highest ranking ever, as the Spartans sit 13th in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) top-20 poll released this week. 

With an overall record of 32-14, NSU moved up two spots from its preseason ranking of No. 15, which had previously been the highest ranking ever for the Spartan program. NSU collected 137 points in the latest poll, 10 points ahead of No. 14 St. Francis (Pa.).

The Spartans own a 16-4 record in conference play, four games ahead of second-place Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M.

UMES DROPS TO FOURTH IN LATEST NATIONAL POLL 

HACKENSACK, N.J.-The National Tenpins Coaches Association (NTCA) December poll was released earlier this week and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) fell to fourth place, down from first in the previous poll.  The Lady Hawks amassed 518 points and collected four first place votes.

After struggling on the final day of both the FDU New Jersey Jamboree and their own Hawk Classic, finishing fifth and fourth respectively, UMES fell in the latest poll, voted on by head coach members of the NTCA.  The Hawks currently stand at 37-9 and sport a perfect 20-0 mark in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play.

HORNETS REMAIN 12th IN NATIONAL BOWLING POLL

Dover, Del. (Dec. 14, 2011) --- Delaware State University has held onto the No. 12 spot in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Top 20 collegiate women's bowling poll. The Hornets, 30-17 this season, received 157 points in the Dec. 2011 poll.
