Bristow's Career High 28 Pts Sparks DSU Comeback Over St. Francis (NY)
DOVER, Del. - A career-high in points for sophomore Tasia Bristow and a 28-4 run to close out the game in addition to forcing 26 turnovers proved to be the right combination to snap a seven-game losing streak for Delaware State as they came back to defeat St. Francis College (N.Y.), 73-66, Sunday afternoon at Memorial Hall.
Bristow posted a game-high 28 points, including 10 free throws, to break her previous career-high of 25 points, set at St. Francis on Dec. 22, 2010. The guard also tied a career-high with four 3-pointers.
St. Francis led by as many as 20 in the game, coming with 14:25 left in the game off of a layup by Colette Hounshell.
The Lady Hornets, previously averaging 20.4 turnovers a game, turned the ball over against the Terriers just nine times.
Redshirt freshman Tierra Hawkins, DSU's leading scorer, and freshman Keyanna Tate each tallied 11 points in the win. Sophomore Deanna Harmon collected a team-high six rebounds.
Jaymee Veney led SFC with a career-high 19 points and 10 rebounds on 6-of-9 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. They also saw double figure scoring from Jasmin Robinson (15 points) and Stefanie Bingham (10 points).

Virginia Tech Outlasts NCCU Women's Basketball 70-52
BLACKSBURG, Va. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - After leading by six points in the first 10-minutes of competition and snapping a 15- point lead to come within eight points in the second-half of play, North Carolina Central University suffered a 52-70 loss to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va., on Sunday Dec. 11.
In the first Atlantic Coast Conference game of the season, NCCU junior Chasidy Williams dropped 12 points, as freshman Kabrina Truesdale finished with 10 points. Williams led the maroon and gray in three additional categories, pulling down six rebounds, circulating four assists and stealing two Virginia Tech possessions in the loss.
VT's Latorri Hines-Allen finished with a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Virginia Tech's Alyssa Fenyn obtained a game-high 15 points and six steals. Porschia Hadley collected nine points, as Aerial Wilson and Monet Tellier lobbed five assists apiece. The Hokies were 47 percent from the field on 29-of-68, 4-of-21 from the long range, and 42 percent from the free-throw line, 8-of-19.

Howard Defeats Navy by 10 to stay undefeated at home
WASHINGTON, D.C---December 11--- After an upset in last year's meeting with the U.S. Naval Academy, the Howard Women's Basketball team came up victorious in defeating the Midshipmen 60-50, a non-conference matchup, at Burr Gym on December 11.
The Lady Bison extended its win streak to three with Tamoria Holmes leading HU with a season-high of 27 points (12-21 from the field) and four steals. Saadia Doyle added 14 points.
Navy was led by Alix Membreno and Audrey Bauer who both finished with 11 points. Bauer also contributed a team high of eight rebounds. Jade Geif and Chantel Lavender both chipped in with eight points.
