Bethune-Cookman Falls to UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. -
After a solid start to the game for Bethune-Cookman, Wednesday night in Orlando, the UCF Knights were able to run away with a win late in the second half, topping B-CU 66-49 handing the Lady Wildcats their fourth straight loss.

The scoreboard, however, doesn't show that B-CU led for the opening minutes after collecting three steals in the first three minutes, or that B-CU fought back to within striking distance on two different runs, or that B-CU took the floor with just one upperclassman, taking on the Knights without top scorer Jasmine Elum.

B-CU only hit 37 percent from the field, against UCF's 48 percent, but the Knights also got a big boost from the free throw line, making 17-of-21 shots from the stripe, as opposed to B-CU's 1-of-3 on limited opportunities.

Coming on strong in the second half, Amber Antoine led all B-CU shooters putting down 5-of-10 for 12 points. Working in an unfamiliar role as the point guard, Jalisa Isaac finished with 11, and Kayla Crawford led B-CU on the boards with seven rebounds to compliment her eight points.
