North Carolina Central's Laverne Jones was named the MEAC Bowling Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Jones (Jr., Goldsboro, N.C.) averaged a 217.0 with 1,085 pinfall at the Elizabeth City State Beach Open. She recorded four scores of 200 or better, including a game-high 248 in a win over Bowie State. As a team the Lady Eagles earned a fourth place finish at the invite.

Megan Buja (UMES) averaged a 213.0 with 1,065 pinfall to finish in fourth at the Fairleigh Dickinson Invite.
Staci Hilliard (B-CU) bowled a 185.0 average with 925 pinfall at the Fairleigh Dickinson Invite.
Nicole Kettler (Hampton) bowled a 190.8 with 949 total pinfall at the Fairleigh Dickinson Invite.
Keisheena Waldon (MSU) knocked down a team-high 956 pins and averaged a 191.2 at the Fairleigh Dickinson Invite.
