Jones, Richardson lead NCCU Bowling during ECSU Beach Open

NAGS HEAD, N.C. - North Carolina Central University junior Khrystal Richardson and fellow junior pinfall leader Laverne Jones gave a stellar performance this past weekend during the Elizabeth City State University Beach Open in Nags Head, N.C., on Nov. 4-6.

NCCU's Richardson had a new season-high game knocking down 189 pins and earned a season-high 827 pinfall during team play against Elizabeth City State, South Carolina State, Bowie State, Virginia State and St. Peter's. Jones, who leads the team with a 206.5 pins per contest average, knocked down a new season-high 248 pins, totaling a 1085 pinfall.

Bethune-Cookman Bowling Finishes 4-9 at FDU

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - The 20th ranked Lady Wildcats took on an extremely tough field this past weekend, coming away with a 4-9 record at the FDU New Jersey Jamboree. 

Including Bethune-Cookman, the tournament field included 11 teams ranked in the NCAA Bowling top 20.

The Lady Wildcats wrapped up the final day's Baker Playoff bracket in strong fashion, finishing 2-1 on the day, taking their season Sunday record to 6-1 on the year.

Junior Staci Hilliard led the Lady Wildcats in Traditional Team games on Saturday, collecting an average of 185 with a high game of 202. Daytona Beach product, freshman Rachel Moore logged B-CU's high game at 210.

Megan Buja Earns Honors as Hawks take 5th in New Jersey

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), started off its 2011-12 bowling campaign over the past weekend with a new look at the same place. The Hawks traveled to the New Jersey Jamboree, hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), finishing fifth overall with a record of 8-5.

Individually the Hawks did shine as sophomore Megan Buja (Rockford, Ill.) earned tournament All-Star honors, finishing fourth out of 120 bowlers and averaged a 213. She posted all five individual games over 200 with a high game of a 231 in a win over No.11 Adelphi. Junior teammate T'nia Falbo (Greensburg, Pa.) was also solid, just missing All-Star honors in sixth place with a 211.2 average and rolling a 247 in the Adelphi win.
