Lady Pirates Finish 20th At ECAC Championships

Hampton women's cross country team finished 20th in the University Division of the 2011 ECAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Van Cortlandt Park.

The Lady Pirates, fresh off their second straight MEAC title, finished with 499 points.

Junior Teshika Rivers led the Lady Pirates with a 19:55.00 over the 5K course, finishing 95th, while sophomore Alaine Tate ran a 19:57.00 to finish 96th.

Sophomore Devyn Thompson came in 107th with a 20:04.00, and sophomore Nichelle Harris finished 110th after running a 20:07.00. Junior Shaquanda Gainey ran a 20:40.00 to come in 148th.

Sophomore Cydney Robinson ran a 21:27.00 to finish 172nd.

The University of Albany won the team title in the University Division, tallying 109 points. Albany's Kathryn Fanning won the individual championship after running an 18:06.00.
