Williams' Double-Double Not Enough In 15-Point NCCU Loss

SPARTANBURG, S.C.- With North Carolina Central redshirt junior Chasidy Williams striding towards a double-double outing and the Lady Eagles ahead at the half, a 15-point Wofford win was the last expectation in the Monday, Nov. 14, 73-58 loss in Spartanburg, S.C.

Williams finished the night with her first double-double performance of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Alesha Jenkins and freshman Kabrina Truesdale finished with seven apiece.  Senior Blaire Houston was the second highest rebounder with six boards.  Sophomore Sierra Solomon forced five WC turnovers, while lobbing six assists.

NCCU finished 39 percent from the field on 24-of-61 shooting, 13 percent from behind the arc, and 38 percent from the free-throw line, 8-of-21.

Each member of the Terriers squad score in the win, with Morgan Wrightson topping the South Carolina host at 21 points.  April Moorhouse seized a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, as Brittenhman led in assists and steals with five each.

Wofford finished 38 percent from the field on 23-of-60 shooting, 28 percent from behind the arc, and 77 percent from the free-throw line, 23-of-30.

Lady Rattlers Open Season With 78-59 Win Over Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla (Nov.14) - Florida A&M (1-0, 0-0 MEAC) followed the leadership of Antonia Bennett and Qiana Donald to take their season opener 78-59 against the Jacksonville Lady Dolphins (0-2).

Bennett led all scorers with 27 points. Donald, one of the best rebounders in Lady Rattlers history, grabbed 13 rebounds, but also scored 13 points. Donald, a Jacksonville native from Ribault High School, made a good showing for her hometown.

Following the senior leaders on the team, four newcomers were the next highest scorers. Patrice Collie scored eight, Keturah Martin scored seven, Jaleesa Blue and Kimberly Sparkman each scored six.

Bennett also pulled down 14 rebounds, while Collie added 12.

The Lady Rattlers shot 42.9-percent from the field and 70.8-percent from the free throw line. If there was one area that the Lady Rattlers look to improve on, it's in the area of turnovers. They committed 21 for the game; three more than JU.
