HAMPTON, Va.- Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) opened their conference season in perfect style, rolling to a 10-0 mark over their MEAC Northern Division opponents. The Hawks were paced by
Anggie Ramirez who tallied 943 pins over four games to average a 235.75.
All seven of the Hawks in uniform saw action in head-to-head games with Ramirez leading the way. Fellow All-America selection Paula Vilas got back on track this week averaging a 213 over her four games with a high of 256. T'nia Falbo was also solid with a 200 average and a high of 230.
Freshman Tatiana Munoz saw her first team game action of the season, rolling three games and averaging a 194 with a high of 213. Classmates Mariana Alvarado and Victoria Jones, who also saw her first action, were impressive averaging 185.25 over four games and 182.5 over a pair of games respectively. Megan Buja couldn't repeat her star showing from last week but rolled in four games with a high of 194.
In those head to head games, they combined to top Howard (940-900), Coppin State (997-703), No. 12 Delaware State (968-840), Hampton (1072-889), and Morgan State (961-890).
In baker games all the Hawks took turns in the line-ups, posting a 5-0 mark. They topped Coppin State and Howard four games to none, Hampton and DSU four games to one and were pushed slightly from Morgan State before winning the last four of six for a 4-2 win.
