NCCU's Santos Boast Double-Double In Final Regular-Season Win
SAVANNAH, Ga. (www.NCCUEaglePride.com) - In the final regular-season match of the season, senior Emanuelle Santos led North Carolina to a three-set (25-9, 25-5, 25-17) victory over the Tigers of Savannah State.
Santos has been formidable assets for the Eagles this year, and Sunday's contest was no exception. The Rio de Janeiro native paced the offensive and defensive with her eighth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 13 digs. Fellow senior Shantel Moore assisted in the offensive effort with 11 kills, while freshman standout Dayanna Arrufat rounded out the offense with nine kills. Freshman Alice Genna delivered 33 assists in the win.
Collectively, NCCU hit 38 percent seizing 42 kills on 86 attempts with only nine errors, while accumulating seven service aces, 39 digs and six team blocks.
The Eagles put a halt to the Tigers offense, with SSU hitting a negative nine percent on the night. Chikia Jones paced the Georgia host with five kills in the loss, while Bryana Gadis collected five digs. Setters Asiha Williams and Ashlee Butler circulated five assists each.
Savannah State collected 14 kills on 80 attempts with 21 errors, as they gathered 32 digs and two team blocks.

UMES Finishes Undefeated In MEAC Play With Four Set Win Over Hampton
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Defeating Hampton in four sets on Senior Day (24-26, 25-18, 25-22, 25-16), Maryland Eastern Shore finished MEAC play undefeated at 12-0 on Sunday, improving to 21-6 with 15 victories in a row. Hampton falls to 7-5 in the conference and 12-13 overall.
With the victory, UMES improves their home winning streak to 24, dating back to 2009. In addition, Don Metil is just one win away from 200 in his career as a head coach.
Zoe Bowens and Rebecca Prado played their final match in the Hytche Athletic Center on Sunday. Each were honored in front of the fans in attendance before the match.
Maline Vaitai led the Hawks with 15 kills, getting five digs and three blocks to add. Saitaua Iosia got her 11th double-double of the year with 12 kills and 10 digs.
Two Lady Pirates earned double-doubles, Krista Kraskura with 12 kills and 13 digs and Sonja Maksimovic with 10 kills and 14 digs.

Seniors End Career With 3-0 Sweep Of Norfolk State
DOVER, Del. -Delaware State sent their four seniors off on a high note Sunday afternoon at Memorial Hall as they swept Norfolk State, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 26-14) in the final regular season game of the year.
The Hornets honored seniors Jessica Barnes, Sonja Banicevic , Elisa Herrmann and Megan McDonald before the exciting match.
The Hornets (5-20, 4-8 MEAC) didn't take the three sets easily from the Spartans; however, as NSU (9-16, 5-7 MEAC) led the entirety of the third set and looked as though they were to force a set four. The set saw four ties, but Del State never took a lead until a 4-0 run put them up, 26-24. The Spartans held their largest lead at 10-5 with two kills from Charlotte Armstead and two aces from Adriana Ramos.
Jessica Croucher posted a match-high 11 kills with a .421 attack percentage (three errors/10 total) in the win. Barnes led the way with eight digs while Christobel Fakaosi contributed 29 assists.
