Saitaua Iosia was named the MEAC'sVolleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Hampton's
Sonja Maksimovic earned Rookie of the Week accolades.
Iosia (5-10, Fr., OH, Long Beach, Calif.) averaged 15.33 kills, 5.33 digs and 2.67 aces in three victories for the Lady Hawks. The outside hitter was 47-percent from the floor (11-of-17) in a 3-0 sweep of Alabama State and followed that performance with 25 kills on 42 attacks (50-percent) in a win over Cal State Bakersfield. Iosia was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and led her team to an undefeated 3-0 record at the Invitational.
Maksimovic (6-1, Fr., Belgrade, Serbia) aided the Lady Pirates in three matches. The rookie totaled 22 kills and added 15 digs in 10 sets last week. In a non-conference win against North Carolina Central, Maksimovic recorded 10 attacks on 14 total attempts to hit 64-percent from the floor. For the week, she added four blocks, three assists and two aces.

Jessica Croucher (DSU) posted a double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs in a 3-2 win against Howard.
Aubrianna Curtis (B-CU) combined for 16 assists and 10 digs in three matches for the Wildcats.
Tosin Elebute (Howard) combined for 28 kills and 16 digs in two matches for the Lady Bison.
Beatriz Ferreira (NSU) tallied a double-double of 16 kills and 11 digs in a four set loss to Hampton.
Krista Kraskura (Hampton) aided her team to a 3-1 mark with a combined 57 kills and 51 digs.
Jennifer Lowe (SSU) hit 41-percent from the floor in a loss to Bethune-Cookman.
Kierra Outlin (MSU) recorded a season high 18 kills and hit 47-percent from the floor in a 3-2 loss to American.
Nangeeshie Plaud (MSU) posted her second double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs in a loss to American.
Emanuelle Santos (NCCU) totaled 41 kills and 49 digs in five matches for the Lady Eagles.
Stephanie Shultis (Howard) recorded a double-double of 15 kills and 14 digs in a loss to Delaware State.
Desiree Waller (SCSU) averaged 15 kills and 4.5 blocks to aid her team to two conference wins last week.
