University of Maryland Eastern Shore freshman Saitaua Iosia was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.  Coppin State's Ariel Richard earned Rookie of the Week accolades.

Iosia (5-10, Fr., OH, Long Beach, Calif.)  guided the Lady Hawks in three conference wins last week. The outsider hitter totaled 36 attacks on 64 total attempts (.453). She recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 13 kills and 13 digs in a win over Coppin State. For the week, Iosia added six blocks, five aces and 25 digs.

Richard (5-11, Fr., Torrance, Calif.) recorded three double-doubles against Hampton, Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State last week. In Coppin State's first conference victory of the season, Richard recorded a career-high 18 kills along with 13 digs against Delaware State.

Other Top Performers:

Charlotte Armstead (NSU) totaled 17 kills, six blocks and one dig in a 3-2 loss to Howard.

Mianna Armstrong (Hampton) was 10-of-18 from the floor (56-percent) in a win over Coppin State.

Edarkis Branch (DSU) combined for 19 kills, five blocks and nine digs in two matches for the Lady Hornets.

Maria Ceccareli (FAMU) hit 48-percent from the floor with 14 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 win against North Carolina A&T.

Jessica Croucher (DSU) tallied 19 kills and 13 digs in a 3-2 win over Morgan State.

Aubrianna Curtis (B-CU) totaled 21 kills in two matches for the Lady Wildcats.

Janeen Davis (B-CU) recorded 20 kills and 16 digs against North Carolina Central for her ninth double-double of the year.

Tosin Elebute (Howard) posted a double-double of 25 kills and 16 digs in a win over Norfolk State.

Jzima-Malaki Kalao (NCCU) combined for 26 assists, 10 kills and 10 digs for North Carolina Central. 

Adriana Ramos (NSU) posted 11 kills and 14 digs in a five set loss to Howard.

Desiree Waller (SCSU) averaged 13 kills and 5.5 digs in two matches for the Lady Bulldogs.
