Five Longhorns Reach Double Figures In Texas Victory Over Coppin State
AUSTIN, Texas - Jordan Hamilton led five Texas players in double figures with 24 points as the 13th-ranked Longhorns defeated Coppin State 95-75 on Friday in the Erwin Center.
Tristan Thompson had 22 points, while J'Covan Brown scored 17 for Texas. Cory Joseph added 13 and Gary Johnson scored 10 as the Longhorns shot 50.8 percent from the floor for the game.
Tony Gallo scored a career-high 22 points for Coppin State and Michael Harper had 18 points. The Eagles also got 13 points from Akeem Ellis and 12 points from Jordan Lee.
Texas out-rebounded Coppin State 47-17 and scored 31 second-chance points in posting its fifth consecutive win.
Coppin State (4-7) shot 44.6 percent from the floor and made 13-of-27 three-point attempts, but could not overcome the Longhorns rebounding advantage.

Ball State Defeats Aggies
MUNCIE, Ind. - North Carolina A&T completed its difficult December road schedule with an 80-68 loss to Ball State Friday night at Worthen Arena. Junior Nic Simpson was the only Aggie to score in double figures with 18 points.
Ball State took advantage of making 31 of its 38 free throw attempts. The Cardinals also out-rebounded the Aggies 45-30. N.C. A&T never led after the 10-minute mark of the first half.
Ball State improved to 7-4 on the season. Jones led the Cardinals with 25 points and nine rebounds. The Aggies return home for the New Year as they face Hiwassee College Tuesday night at 7 from Corbett Sports Center.
