Spartans Move Up to 8th in Regional Cross Country Rankings

On the heels of their second consecutive team victory, the Norfolk State men's cross country moved up two spots to eighth in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region poll.

NSU topped a five-team field at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge last Saturday, hosted by No. 4 ranked William & Mary. The Spartans made their season debut at No. 12 in the top 15 poll two weeks ago, and moved up to 10th after winning the Lou Onesty Invitational hosted by No. 3 Virginia on Sept. 10.

The Spartans' highest-ever regional ranking was seventh at the beginning of the 2006 season.

NSU competes this Saturday morning at the Great American Cross Country Challenge in Cary, N.C.
