Chandelic Jackson were selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Athletes of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Tessema (Jr., Springfield, Virginia) won the Lou Onesty Invite with a personal best time of 25:03.25. His time aided the Spartans to a first place finish out of five teams, including #22 Virginia.
Jackson (Fr., Dallas, Georgia) captured two individual titles and guided her team to two team titles last weekend. Jackson won the gold at the Bethune-Cookman Invite with a time of 17:52.44. She followed that performance with a win at the Albany State Invite with at time of 22:04.10 on the 5.2K course.
Other Top Performers:
Cynthia Anais (UMES) won the individual title at the Delaware State Open with a time of 20:20.53.
Ileis Figueroa (B-CU) finished fourth with a time of 18:27.47 at the B-CU Invite.
Basil Melek (UMES) earned a second place finish at the Delaware State Open in 15:45.60 on the 5K course.
Kevin Rono (B-CU) captured the gold on the 5K course at the B-CU Invite with a time of 15:07.56.
