The Delaware State bowling team has dug an early hole for itself in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. The seventh-seeded Hornets fell to No. 2 Arkansas State 4-0 in a best-of-seven first round tournament match at Brunswick Carolier Lanes this morning.

The Hornets will now await the loser of the No. 3 Vanderbilt vs. No. 6 UMES match in a losers' bracket contest that's scheduled to start around 11:30 a.m.

Arkansas State rolled six strikes en route to a 232-191 win in game 1. The Hornets were hurt by an open in the seventh frame. The Red Wolves did not have an open frame until the fourth game.

Delaware State led game four, 173-161, after eight frames, but suffered an open in the tenth frame. ASU recorded a strike in the ninth frame and totaled 20 pins in the tenth.
