VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., April 26, 2010 - Bethune-Cookman's Cesley Tafoya was named MEAC Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Florida A&M's Amanda Reyes earned Pitcher of the Week honors.
Tafoya (2B, 5-7, So., Oxnard, Calif.) led the Lady Wildcats to a 1-1 finish last week including a non-conference victory over North Florida. Tafoya hit .333 from the plate with two hits including two home runs and seven RBI. She also posted seven assists and one putout for the week.
Reyes (P, 5-2, Sr., Scotts Valley, Calif.) picked up a pair of wins over Savannah State as she helped the Lady Rattlers to a 2-2 finish last week. She earned an ERA of 1.57 with 30 strikeouts in 22.2 innings. Reyes recorded an ERA of 0.00 in game one against Savannah State and struck out 13 of the 22 batters faced and allowed just one hit in the victory.

Jessie Larson (NCAT) recorded a hitting percentage of .444 with four hits, two home runs, and five RBI to help the Lady Aggies finish 2-2 for the week.
Jennifer Luper (NCAT) threw a perfect game against N.C. Central to earn the 7-0 win in five innings of play.
