North Carolina A&T won the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cheerleading Championship Monday evening at the Joel Coliseum in Winston Salem,North Carolina.
The Aggies of North Carolina A&T captured first place honors for the fourth consecutive year, while the Morgan State Bears placed second and Florida A&M Rattlers finished third in overall team performance. In addition to winning in overall performance, the Aggies also won the Co-Ed division.
Lisa Alexandera took home the crown for North Carolina A&T in the All-Star division while Regan Hales of Winston-Salem State was second and Tenisha Francis of North Carolina A&T finished third.
The Morgan State Bears won the All-Girls division for the first time since capturing the title in 2006. Maryland Eastern Shore took home second place honors while Hampton rounded out the top three finishing third.
Coach Wenalyn Bell of North Carolina A&T could not be more pleased with her team's performance. "This was a difficult year for us, we had to make some adjustments late in the season," Coach Bell said. "Our team really pulled together."
